Mappa Mundi

Video Performance

2018

Mappa Mundi is a live video performance that, accompanied by improvised electronic music, reflects on the nature of geopolitical borders, their temporality, and their future. With a duration of fifteen minutes, it invites spectators to question the apparent stability of continents, their shapes, and their geographical features.

The performance also reflects on the act of mapping territories and resources, and on the over-datafication of feelings and emotions. Through live image manipulation and sound, the map is treated not as a fixed representation but as an unstable surface: a device that organizes territories, borders, resources, and imaginaries.

What remains after the mapping?
